The mistake of Madison Avenue is in assuming that Second Life is a mass consumer outlet. It isn't. Those that stick around very long in Second Life are active participants, not just or primarily consumers looking for something to buy. Far from showing a weakness of SL this may show it is refreshingly different.

Don't forget about when they clipped our stipends from 500 lindens to 300.

Don't forget the bait-and-switch scam where they made millions when they screwed over thousands of residents by pricing them out of business with a 63% tier increase.

Don't forget how they ignore everyone's abuse reports when you find someone else selling the avatars that you spent months making, so that they can profit from people buying their Lindens to purchase what the thief stole from you.

LL brought all this negativity on themselves. I've been a resident for 2 years and it's always been obvious to me that LL don't give a damn about their residents but they sure as hell care about what's in our pockets.

Second Life abused its player base by refusing to give them simple rights like the ability to not have your game money or land (which can equal thousands of US$) seized by them, by not protecting their account information, and by not protecting their game creations against copy bots. They deserve to be run out of business.
