I know from previous experience from running a business from home, the downsides are that you can always find 101 different jobs to do in the home, doing the washing, anything really to distract, even people knowing you work from home so the daily calls. I in the end had to find an office space local to home and I did find this much better and a better use of my time especially for the business and far less distracting!

The flipside is, of course, that working from home gives you a lot more flexibility about HOW you balance work and home. For example, I’m just about to have an afternoon nap. Try that in your offices cubicle-slaves!

This post is even more relevant now as company’s are looking more and more to outsource to keep costs down. The most important point you have is number 2. Keep work and home separate.
Having been here before it’s the hardest one to do but by far the most important, I found when I didn’t do this, my days never really started and more importantly never bloody finished

Working from home is best for guys who are in the IT Industry , they make lot of money and spend good time on freelancing sites

You make working from home seem so tempting working in a busy office with paper everywhere seems such a muddle we are trying to become a paperless organisation starting with invoice scanning which has made it so much better already
