I suppose it must happen sometimes. Goodness knows, I had enough employees behave badly when they were quitting so it goes both ways. However, I think it is important to plan your behaviour on the basis that most people will be professional and well-behaved. If you calibrate your behaviour assuming everyone is a dick, life's going to be pretty unpleasant, isn't it? That said, working somewhere, you'll have a pretty good idea of how they'll take your quitting. In this case it sounds like you are well out of it! What a shame. I suppose it must happen sometimes. Above all else in my opinion - first impressions count! I work a retail management job because of excellent pay, but I've put in for jobs every week since I started the position.
