		<description>If you've got a wireless network connection you can save battery/power on your laptop/PC by switching off the wireless card while you're not using the connection. Maybe save a few milliwatt hours each day if you can bear to not check email every ten minutes, that is.

More seriously, when you have to take a trip, don't leave your car idling while you dash back in to collect the various things you forgot and kiss your partner goodbye...five minutes idle time is apparently the equivalent of a 3km drive at 45kmh or thereabouts
