Guerilla grammarians and Strunk & White
A post on the New Legal Writer blog says that the author was issued a copy of Strunk and White (a guide to good writing, see my review) when he was admitted to the bar of the US Court of Appeals of the Eleventh Circuit. Fantastic. What a great idea.
I’d like to take it further. Let’s issue every newly-qualified professional with a copy. Every new PR, every new Microsoft Certified Professional, every new accountant and so on. We could go further. Let’s put a copy into hotel rooms alongside the Gideon Bible.
The revolution won’t be televised. It will be exquisitely punctuated.

The college I attended in Ottawa required that each PR student own a copy before they were admitted to the course. My copy sits on my desk to this day.
