Grave humour

by Matthew Stibbe on October 30, 2006

Graveyard angelI just discovered this blog (“A happy traipse through England’s most excellent cemeteries with a lumpy Kodak.”).  I love the grim humour and wordplay.

I tried to pick a few examples to illustrate it but, really, the best thing is to just visit the site and check it out.

Thanks for this site. I’m a sucker for cemeteries (I lead cemetery tours for 3rd graders every year in my town).

Oh, this is too wonderful–a perfect Halloween treat. I live a (head)stone’s throw away from the oldest cemetery in the East Bay (California), which is full of mid-19th-century obelisks, pyramids, and statuary dedicated to people who must have been VIPs in their day but are now long forgotten.
