Inspired by your example, Matthew, and inspired by a Flash Rave created in Sydney yesterday, I decided to see if it’d be possible to create a Flash Chant with a political message at today’s Australian Football League final in Melbourne. When I’m in Sydney.

It took me 45 minutes to create the website at http://flashchant.com — but that included installing WordPress as well as creating the domain. It’s been online less than 2 hours and already it’s got 600+ unique visitors with just a tiny bit of promotion on Facebook. Wow!

The game starts in 100 minutes. It’ll be interesting to watch the TV coverage…

The trick for this was using the website template from oswd.org (in fact, it took longer to find a template then to do the tweeking).

The 30 minute stopwatch is a great way to get started on anything we would otherwise be reluctant to start, or are likely to put off. And once its done, there is always tweaking:)

I got a phone call today from a friend asking if they could come round for coffee - I managed all the housework in under 30 minutes. Not quite in the same techy league as creating a website, but it shows how motivation (and embarrassment at not having done the vacuuming etc) is a great incentive.

nice race - have never thought of building a site in such a rush!! one suggestion as for this: you could also set up a blog in less than 30 minutes. Pluses: no need to think about coding, ready-made CMS, a great choice of free templates. Think it over for the next teacher :))
