Fighter pilots seem to be a special breed, whatever their nationality. Of those pilots you feature "Sandy" Sanders and Bob Doe, among others in your book. I remember a conversation with Bob Doe in a TV special on the Battle of Britain wherein he describes being shot down and parachuting over "this lovely little island", Brownsea Island. "Sandy" Sanders has died since you interviewed him for your book but I hope Bob Doe is still living and that you might convey to him my sincere 'thank you' for what he and his comrades accomplished in 1940.
